Sambosi Festival – Tony Lakatos Quartet
Tony Lakatos was born in Budapest in 1958. He has lived in Germany since 1982, and been soloist of the Frankfurt Radio Big Band since 1993. He has played at virtually every major jazz festival. For many years now he has enjoyed a position as one of the most sought-after saxophonists in Europe.
His TV and radio recordings are near countless and his playing style can be heard on over 220 albums and CDs. In addition, he has worked as soloist on numerous pop-rock albums. He has staged concerts and toured every country in Europe as well as the USA, Japan, South Africa, India, Singapore, Indonesia and many other parts of the world. The title of the latest Trió disc is "Gypsy Colours"; record release concerts were held in Budapest and throughout the country in March 2006.
