Natalie Cole: Still Unforgettable

When Natalie Cole’s fertile jazz collection Unforgettable…With Love appeared in 1991, it stood at the top of the charts for five weeks, received six Grammy Awards and sold more than 8 million copies in the United States alone.

To many people’s surprise, after this the singer did not exploit the astounding success to immediately start working on a new album, but instead she retired somewhat and began working on many other brilliant ideas including putting together pieces chartering her life. She waited until her new songs had diffused throughout her heart and soul and only then, last year, did she appear with the second part of the collection, Still Unforgettable. The success has been all the more dramatic because not only has the singer pick up two Grammys but she was also presented with the NAACP Award for Best Jazz Artist.
